On-leash obedience
EVERY dog that comes through our program is going to learn on leash obedience. No pulling, no lunging. Just calmly walking by your side. Whether you’re going on a neighborhood walk or going into a more high stress setting like a veterinarian’s office or pet store, you’ll have a dog that has great on leash manners.

off-leash obedience
EVERY dog going through the RYD60 program is going to learn off-leash obedience. You’ll have the ability to call your dog when off the leash and have your dog come when called. You’ll be able to have your dog stay close when off the leash, stay when told, walk next to you off the leash.
Great stuff like that.
Imagine being able to take your dog to the beach, up into the mountains, on hikes, etc. and have your dog be off leash and RELIABLY listen to you.

Great Manners
‘Great manners’ is a broad term and encompasses a lot of things. But it mostly entails the ‘don’t do that’ stuff.
No more jumping, chewing, stealing, counter surfing, nuisance barking, etc.
It also means making sure the dog or puppy is properly house trained and crate trained, if needed.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T GET THE RESULTS I WANT FROM THE TRAINING? IS THERE A GUARANTEE?
As a matter of fact, there is! We've caught a lot of flack from other dog trainers for using the word "guarantee", but we're so confident in our RYD60 program that we offer a two part training guarantee:
For our private dog training programs we give a full 7 days after your first session with our trainer. If you don’t like your training then we’ll refund your entire investment. In addition, if you go through with your program and the results aren’t at the level you hoped we will do more training with you at no additional cost.
For our board and train dog training programs we are confident you’ll love your results. If your dog goes through our board and train, though, and the results aren’t what you wanted we will work more with you and your dog at no additional cost. This may be additional private sessions or additional time in board and train, depending on what will best help you get to your goal.
DO YOU USE TREATS TO TRAIN DOGS?
We don’t rely on a food or treat-based training program. Our approach is far more geared towards relationship based training. We’re looking to avoid the overly-fixated, amped-up dog that is waiting anxiously for the next command or food reward. That said, we will use food when we find it helpful to the individual dog, and then fade it before the dog goes home. Human-aggressive dogs and highly unmotivated dogs are good examples.
WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE LOOK LIKE FOR A CONFIDENT CANINES BOARD AND TRAIN DOG?
All dogs are housed in our trainer's home. We only work with a small handful of dogs at any given time, which allows us to give every dog the personal attention they need, as well as maintaining a calm, relaxed, and quiet environment. All dogs will receive a structured walk, multiple training sessions, downtime in the crate as well as in duration commands like Place, and there will be play time for dogs to blow off steam and enjoy just being a dog. And most importantly, every moment of the day is training – this means crate behavior, thresholds, feeding, potty breaks, and every interaction are all a huge part of the overall training process, and why we’re so successful.
MY DOG IS UNCONTROLLABLE ON THE WALK – PULLING, LUNGING, BARKING, GROWLING – CAN YOU FIX THIS?
We’ve become known as THE specialists when it comes to all manner of walk issues. Whether you’ve got an unstoppable puller, a super prey-crazed dog, or severe leash reactivity/aggression towards dogs/people/cars/bikes, etc., we’ve created socialized approaches that solve even the most challenging walk issues.

We are often the last stop after clients have been through multiple trainers. Unlike other training approaches that only focus on developing rehearsed behaviors, bribing with treats, or merely managing/bandaid-ing the problem, we have developed a unique approach that fundamentally changes the dog’s state of mind. Once we address the dog’s state of mind, the sky’s the limit for what we can create. By cultivating new habits, teaching the dog to make better choices, training calmness instead of excitability, and employing our unique duration work, we are consistently successful with dogs that others are unable to help.
DO YOU WORK WITH DOGS OUTSIDE OF MADISON COUNTY?
We travel to clients within a reasonable driving distance of Madison County. We often have clients outside our service area come to Huntsville for weekly private sessions, and many dog owners have come from as far as 3 states away to put their dog into our board and train program.
